Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026

Destello (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a stargazing companion for the Canary Islands. We respect your privacy and try to collect as little data as we can while still making the app useful. This policy explains what we do collect, why, and your rights.

What we collect

If you use the app without signing in: we do not collect any personal information. The map, list of stargazing spots, tonight’s sky data, and meteor-shower calendar all work anonymously.

If you sign in (with Apple, Google, or email): we receive your name and email address (or a private relay email if you use Apple’s Hide My Email). We use these solely to maintain your account, sync your saved spots, and send your chosen reminders.

Notification token: if you enable any reminder toggle, the app registers a per-device push token (issued by Expo / Apple / Google) so our server can deliver the notification. The token is tied to your account, never shared, and removed when you sign out or revoke permission.

Location: if you grant location permission, your coordinates are used on device only to compute the local moon and twilight times for the Sky tab. We do not transmit or store your location.

Analytics: we do not collect any analytics data.

How we use your data

Data storage

Account data, saved spots, and notification preferences are stored on Supabase. All data is transmitted securely over HTTPS.

Data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app (Profile → Edit → Delete Account). When you delete your account, we permanently remove your data from our servers and revoke your authentication tokens.
